These spinnerbaits were developed by a man named M.L. Brooks, who started making spinnerbaits for his own personal use in the early 1970's. The name Mister Hooty came from one of his grandchildren who had an imaginary friend by that name. Needing to name his lure, Mister Hooty fit the role perfectly. In the lated 1990's Bobby Walley purchased the Old River Lure Co. from Mr Brooks. Having spread the word about this awesome little lure through out Mississippi and Louisiana, Mr. Walley finally sold out in the spring of 2005 to the owners today, Chris Burnham and Cynthia Bryan of Farmerville, Louisiana. This little bait has stood the test of time and is still catching fish today. Remember, a better lure would be illegal!!!
